About
Black Cat Comics was established in 2004, born of the desire to never return to a corporate cubicle by the owner and founder, Greg Gage.
A comic fan from almost day one, Greg was given his first X-Men comic in 1975, at the ripe old age of 4 and a half. Since then, the addiction has spread, encompassing everything, from representing the geek life in the 80’s (when it was not exactly cool), to comic tattoos, to owning his own store.
More than 2 decades later, Black Cat has been host to legendary creator signings, such as Neal Adams, Darick Robertson, and Ben Templesmith, among many, many more. They’ve also won 9 (and counting) best comic shop awards in City Weekly’s Best of Utah, as well as a KSL A-List award for best comic shop, Salt Lake Magazine’s Best of Sugarhouse, and have been featured in Devour Magazine’s Nerd Issue.
Throughout pandemics, recessions, wars, and, most frightening, Salt Lake City construction (an archenemy if there ever was one), Black Cat has thrived and survived, and continues to do so to this very day.
